Designer lost his domain because of flaw in gmail.

    He found a redirect in his Gmail filters that he didn't put there. Emails to him re the domain were being redirected this other email account.

    Umm, don't go over there to kick anyone's ass. If you're lucky you'll get the hacker's ISP, and the hacker won't be hanging out at his ISP waiting for someone to beat him up. More likely, though, is that's the address of a compromised machine or proxy server that he was going through, and it's not even the right state.

    Excatly, it is more than just probable that it is a compromised computer as well. Regarding him getting his domain back, he can get it thourgh WIPO arbitration, but he will have to pay $1500 as fee, and he won't be able claim any damages from the cracker whatsoever unless he seeks legal assistance which would be more expensive.

    He had already gotten it back when you wrote that. He supplied Godaddy with proof of identity and they transferred it back.
