When creating your site do you still test using IE6 to make sure the site looks right? or is it considered old now and you don't bother checking? What browsers / versions do you test when creating your site? Thanks.
A good number of my site visitors are still using IE6. So I test my site with IE7, IE6, FF and Opera.
I don't have a way to test with IE6 anymore, if I could I would. I usually test with IE7, FF2, Opera9, Safari (for windows), Flock
If you run windows you can install multiple I.E's http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IEhttp://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE I ALWAYS check that my sites work in IE 6, IE 7 FF 2 (and now FF3)... Other browsers to check are Opera, Safari and that will cover a large % of the population...
Almost 30% of web traffic is still using IE6, even more than use FireFox, so it's definitely worth making sure all sites still work in IE6: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=817457
At my work, we still have to. But for my personal site I don't really need to, since most of my visitors are web designers and use firefox. Doing sites for myself I test for FF, IE7, Safari (PC), and Opera. At work we are required to test for all browsers.
My stats show that IE6 users are only next below IE7 then FF and Opera. So there are still a lot of IE6 users out there even in the US. There are some US companies that don't upgrade their work stations with the latest IE because other applications they use. There are things that work on IE7 but not IE6 for example this video script displays fine with IE7 but not IE6. You can check and see what is wrong with IE6 and IE7. Folks who use IE6 would think that this site is not a good site because of the display. So yes it is good to test with IE6 as well. My two cents.
