Hi I need to convince the design team to change this very slow loading flash image on the home page of this site However the client still wants to keep the large high detailed photos. Can someone suggest an alternative way of displaying? Like can it be down in css, or can the flash be optimised etc? Cheers
First I would at least try to compress the images a little before importing them into flash. Obviously I can't tell what the file sizes are of the images but they're probably way too big. They should be able to reduce the size of them without sacrificing too much detail. Then maybe change the flash so that it loads the first picture during the loader. Once the first picture loads, go directly to the flash file and start loading the other pictures in the background.
Hi Keiths Thanks for your reply. It's my understanding that these images have been compressed already. As for changing the flash so that it loads the first picture during the loader, is that a pretty straight forward thing to do? (I'm a SEO not a flash developer) Cheers
