I've had some feedback from some helpful people here(thanks guys). Based on it i've changed a few things, especially the colours.
It's a jpg image of a design 'sketch' i'm working on:

Any feedback is helpful, especially on the colours!

I commented on this awhile ago and I agree it's becoming easier on the eyes. I use a laptop so the smaller and closer the font the harder it is to scan over and see if I'm interested in the content.

I think there is a little to much blue. With my site (traffic site in signiture) i used lots of blue but not near as much as yours. I spose it would be good for a kids site if it is one.

Thanks guys. Anyone else agree with the colours being too dark? One guy said they were too light...

a little brighter colors and higher contrast and it would look
    really good.

    good luck.
