rhey! I'm new here, found this awesome forum thought I would join up. I have a small indie game development studio, we're just starting up and pretty much have to do everything by ourselves for a while. We made this site for our company. http://www.jumporfall.com/ We are not pro webdesigners, just some hobbie some of our team members had besides game development and like I said still have to make most by ourselves. Site is still w.i.p but I was wondering if you could review design and maybe suggest or advice some changes that would make it better. one thing we see is that, glossy buttons and objective icons don't mix well with flat paper-ish look we wanted site to have, so we think of changing them. what other changes would you suggest? Cheers! -Sandro
Take a long time to load. Don't like the logo much graphics are not clean Top header area, especially, is a mess IMO. Definitely needs a rethink.
It does not really have a distinguished content layout. It really needs to be organized better. The color choice is way too dark, I almost fell asleep as soon as it loaded. Check out Adobe Kuler for different color schemes that may work for you. You could, perhaps, keep that background but create a content box in the middle with a white background and organize everything within that. Also do a google search for website color selection. That is critical in gaining and keeping your visitors attention!!
The design in itself is different and interesting, but it is not immediately clear what the site is about, maybe add a "We are a game development team" at the top so i know instantly what the site is about. The objectives thing on the site is pretty cool as well. Good job so far.
Loaded very quickly for me. I think visually it looks ok.... like if it was a poster or something... but as a website interface it is a bit unclear....Some of the buttons/icons are clickable... some are not...... people would probably try clicking one and when it didn't work, assume none of them are clickable..... or if they can click one and then not click another, think what is going on with this site? I get the feeling you hired a semi decent graphics designer who knows nothing about web design and said make me a cool webpage.... but everyone forgot about the wireframe process for making a clear layout.
