Contest Design Contest #18: $35 Logo Contest (72 Hours)

Here's another logo contest for you guys....

The name for logo is:

"MiddleRiver.Biz"

Middle River dot Biz

Theme behind website:

This website will be a live webcam stream of boats in the harbor floating by. It's just a simple site with live stream and ads on the site. A one page site with footage of these boats coming from one vantage point.

Possible fonts:

Totally up to you. Be creative. I just want things to look nice and brandable.

Possible logo concept:

The emphasis in the logo should be definitely on the website being about boats, sailboats in particular, and a webcam (i.e. boatcam).


Possible Things to Include in Design:

Camera

Harbor

I just want someone to see the logo and know what the website is all about. Don’t make things too complicated. I don't want to overwhelm folks with too many things in the design.


Colors:

Up to you. Client is open to anything. If we need to change colors later. We will do so at that time.

The contest is to last 72 hours but preferably sooner. If I see a logo I really like, I will post that to board that contest would stop.

Nice way to start off the contest. I love the font and I even like the byline. I would probably change the wording, but I like its placement. The thing that I don't like is the boat and icon. It's hard to really make out that that is a boat. I know it's a boat but if someone were seeing this for the first time, I think it'd be hard for them to make out. Also I would like for a better interpretation on the recording aspect of the boat. But tbh, we like your logo a lot. Just need some mods mainly dealing with the icon and interpretation of what the site is about.

Not really liking this one but...

We do like this one a little. We like the font used but would like to see some other variations. Also, the icon needs to be toned way down. There's too much going on. Although I can see that you understand what the site is to be about, there's too much noise and clutter. would like for the icon to be able to stand apart from the wording if we were to separate the two.

Love, Love, Love your icon and the use of a webcam. Not too much in love with the boat used though. Maybe you can play around with that. I also don't like the font used. It looks too plain.

I love your use of animation because it caught my attention but I would like to see a version without it being animated and also I would like to see you play around and add an interpretation element of the video recording aspect of the site's main purpose.

I like the boat you used in the icon but not liking the other elements. The icon as a whole kind of reminds me of the opening scenes in a James Bond movie to be honest. I don't get the whole recording angle when I see this although overall the icon is nice. Just needs a little bit more polish. Not really liking the font.

I'm not trying to be mean here but literally no effort was made. Please don't enter my contests or anyone else's contests for that matter if you're not even going to try. You can't honestly tell me that you'd think I'd pick your logo over the others posted here. Especially when a Google Image search shows me that you didn't try:

I literally keyed in one word "river" and your image popped up. Doesn't get much easier than that. You can at least try to hide the fact that you copied from someone else. You didn't even try to do that.

We like the logo. Just not for this kind of site. The boat you used looks more like a pirate ship than a sailboat.

You're in the lead so far. Two main things that I'd like you to change. My client says that it kind of looks like ship is sinking. Can you level it out just a bit and make the "live" button more defined meaning that it's a little easier to see. I like its placement but feel that the colors used makes it a little hard to read what it says although I love the subtlety of it as it don't stand out too much but just enough. But still would like for people who notice that there, to be able to make it out if that makes sense.

This was your best mod but unfortunately you're trying too hard with the icon. It's far too busy and has a lot going on. I really want things to be somewhat subtle.

Like the revisions but still not feeling the symbols and shapes used. Too James Bonds-ish like I stated before. I know that it's not intentional but this is what we see when we see your logo.

Like the logo but looks a little too much like a security camera.

You're in the top 3 mostly due to the icon which we love but the font is still not doing it for us. Like if we were to remove the icon and put the words on a shirt, it'll look too plain. The font is the main thing that's keeping you from moving up the rankings but we LOVE the icon and the use of webcam.
