Fathom & Browntwn, I can assure you our service is not a scam. I work at DMCA.com along with a team of professionals.
A few points I can tell you flat out:
    1. We are successful almost %100 of the time
    2. Our clients absolutely love our service.
    3. At $99 it's a great value
    4. We take our work seriously we are professionals.
    5. DMCA Takedowns are not as simple as just firing off an email.
    6. We have many repeat clients
    7. Many of our clients are lawyers or legal departments (for $99 it's a problem solved and they love it)
    8. We offer full refunds for unsuccessful take downs.
    9. We deal with many sensitive issues and we value our clients privacy and treat the issues with respect. Sometimes it's not just a blog post that's stolen.
    10. We are open and honest with our clients about what it is we can do for them.

DMCA.com offers the best DMCA Takedown Service going.
If you're content has been stolen and there's money involved then $99 to get it dealt with is a great deal.

Your firm successfully exploits the mysticism of DMCA.

It certainly is a great snake oil operation (no doubt there) but I can assure you... snake oil is your business.

Well I'm glad that you can assure me of that. I guess I should quit my job and start sending out resumes. I'm going to show the business owners your post and I'm sure they will realize you're right, come to their senses and close the entire thing down. Probably my last day of work will be emailing our thousands of happy customers telling them that we're closing because you "assured us" our business is snake oil.
Thanks Fathom your insights are precious.

I signed up for the DMCA.com and paid for the "do it yourself takedowns toolkit" but almost every link on the site leads to the $199 or $99 'managed takedowns" sign up form. I haven't received any "do it yourself" toolkit.

None of the tools on the website work. They all lead to the same "managed takedowns" sign up form.

When I click "Add New Toolkit Takedown", it even leads to the "Managed takedowns" section.

When I click "Ask a support question", it creates a new $199 "Managed takedown".

When I click on the "Do it Yourself Takedown FAQ", it leads to the $199 "Managed takedown" sign up form.

I'm paying a monthly subscription but contrary to the website advertising, after logging in, all you get access to is a $199 sign up form. What gives?

I've emailed DMCA.com support but so far received no reply.

    Any help is deeply appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Matt,
You should be able to create your Toolkit Takedowns at https://www.dmca.com/Toolkit as long as your logged in.

    Thanks

Yes, I already did that, and just tried it again, it just makes a "Managed takedown", not a toolkit takedown.

    Hi Matt,
I'm glad we were able to help you out, and do look for some enhancements coming to our toolkit product in the next couple months.
