Hello. I'm making this for a client. He doesn't seem to like it too much so far. Any suggestions appreciated.

He said it looks a little cold and dead.

I like it but if he finds it cold,
you could change the colors in something yellow / orange / red ?

He said he wants blue. The header was already done. I worked below it.

BTW, I can't edit the header. He said not to change it.

Thanks for the advice though :)

if it's a travel website add in some pictures of relevant information. A floridian beach, colorado mountains, Ney York City, Las Vegas Strip.. pictures of places that will lighten up the mood. Obviously pictures of cities and things of that nature will brighten it up more than a beach or landscape.. Have some thumbnails the favorite state section for example with a great picture showing that state.

instead of blue-->grey, what about blue--> red. it would be a bit more 'fiery'. less 'cold'.

Have you considered changing the background colour of the tables to something with a tinge of warmth: orange, yellow. Not enough to distract, but enough to make the page look less cold. Although changing the colour of the headings to a vibrant red would "warm things up", it would also wreck the design, I think. Nothing too drastic!

It actually quite like the design - seems professional. You could always try adding somebright icons to brighten it up (next to "SignUp", "Newest Users" etc...

In addition to pictures of travel destinations, perhaps you have have an idea for a funny animal mascot? That would warm things up a bit, I would think.

EDIT: My bad. I didn't see your "Job Website" reference before. In that case perhaps you could come up with a Job mascot like Monster has here: http://media.monster.com/mm/usen/home/06/trump_login.gif

I think it needs a good logo, something recognizable.

Perhaps some orange would warm it up a bit.
