Contest Design a Community Radio Emblem / Logo - 3 Prizes - 1st Prize - $25AUD - Instant Paypal

Hi DPers, another contest from me, this time I need a nice new logo / emblem for a non-profit community radio station.

The station plays mainly 50s, 60s & 70s music and is aimed at the >50s+ market.

The slogan used often is more music, more often.

I would like to see something simple but clever, I bet the client will too. Something that instantly says radio station.

The new logo / emblem needs to look great at large size for use on a wall as well as placed across their stationery, letterheads, cue cards, invoices etc. as well as for the website so it will need to be on transparent background
(website will be black background, stationery will be white).
A logo suitable as a favicon as well will be an advantage.

Instructions from client are "I want something totally different. It needs to include the letters and numbers shown in the existing logo but the rest is for open creativity".

New website logo area is 340wx139h so that will be a good size to post here.

The client has the right not to choose any design, or just 1 design or just 2, though, because I believe in fairness and I appreciate how hard some of you work, I will personally guarantee a top $25 prize for the competitor that I see as putting in the hardest effort whether the client chooses a logo or not, just to ensure the top prize remains.

Winners: when a prize has been paid to you, you agree to send the logo file(s) and any fonts used to the email address given in the Paypal transaction and you relinquish all professional rights to use the logo elsewhere apart from your own portfolio to the client shall receive any and all such rights to use the logo however they deem fit thereafter.

Runners up; still worth entering! Even if you don't win this contest I believe this genre of logo will be good to have in your portfolio anyway. There are literally thousands of community radio stations that may just buy your design. It won't be a waste of your time.

Time; 7-14 days
I reserve the right to close this contest after 7 days if the three winning entries have been chosen.
I usually run my contests for up to a week but this contest is for a NPO that involves a few people so I will run this contest over 14 days maximum just to make sure I can get the right feedback from the right people.

The earlier you can submit your entry the better your chances that everybody who needs to see it will see it so please try to enter as soon as you can.

I do hope to see some great entries here, I put my faith in that you guys can do it. Please have a go.

As usual you get a like if I like your submission and I will check back daily to provide my own feedback on entries received but please remember the client does have the final say and they get to choose the winners.

My thoughts; There has been a few nice designs which could possibly be used as an update of their original logo but I still haven't seen something new and original that they can use for a new look.

@wend666 - I like the original thought-out 2nd one best. Thanks for entering both designs.

@normanmagallanes - I like what you've done with the radio tower on the L. Can't say the rest did it for me.

@normanmagallanes - A variation of that 'similar' logo. Take out the outer circle to leave the inner-black area and it could be similar to those signs at every train-station, which could be a good thing for the client's request. See my following post @everyone.

@Todd Duquette - Well-spotted. Thank-you for the tip. The post itself proved useful as it reminded me to mention trains lol but I definately don't want a slightly modified existing logo to get sued over. It must be a 100% original design. I liked the entries you have sent via PM. I will post them here only if they win a prize. Thanks for entering more and if the new info below helps, feel free to submit more via PM.

@everyone - For the sake of new ideas, the main man at the radio-station has reminded us the radio station is situated inside a historic train station and it would ge great to see some entries with a train or trainstation theme.

Think community - trainstation - radiostation...and let those ideas loose.
