Description Copy from other site

Hello,

i have a forum and i would like to know if i copy description from other forum as they are getting high traffic as they are doing good seo for their forum . so if i copy their description will it make any problem for my forum in search engines ? .

DON'T DO IT.
It will slap your site off. Things are changed after panda update. You're site just would be treated like a replica.

You rather want to put the description according to your forum's subject.

oh okay i got it thanks , i thought only google panda works for contents duplicate not for descriptions too .

 

I would stay away from doing that for sure. Not only because of the Google Panda update but because it really wouldn't do much for you.

 

Also a heads up on your signature. Having here be the anchor text is doing just about nothing for moving you up on the search engines.

Your forum will start to do worse. Because it will be considered as duplicate content.

 

Write an original description, don't copy it from any other website. Make sure that you include your most targeted keywords in the description. This will help in easy indexing of your website/pages based on your targeted keywords.

 

just see the model of other forums descriptions but dont copy. you create new description to your forum with keywords it help you. all the best

 

Google & Yahoo like the Fresh & Unique content. So don't do the copy pest business.

 

this is not good for your site, try to avoid it and use unique and better description according to your forums subjects
