Denial of service attack?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I think my website is under a denial of service attack. It seems almost impossible to believe as it's a niche website about dog agility. The site seems to be under attack through a small survey. The responses suddenly started pouring in at such a rate that the servers couldn't cope. I usually get about four or five responses a day. I've temporarily removed the survey from the site and yet somehow the repsonses are still coming in. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? If so what did you do?

Find where the traffic is coming from. You can see why people are being transfered to your site.

I don't have access to the logs unfortunately. I do have stats that show where there are links to my site but there are an awful lot of these. One thing I have found is that someone has stolen material from my website to publish on their blog. This is breach of copyright surely.

    Do you have cpanel?

Also, you can ask your host to check your logs, or if you're experienced about it, ask them to provide you logs for your account/domain.

take a look at the raw access logs or have your provider look right away if you suspect any unusual activity.
