Democrats not only won the house, but may also win the senate. The senate will come down to recounts and absentee ballots in VA and Montana. In VA, there are a good number of military who tend to vote Republican, their may even be enough to overcome Webb's 8k vote lead. In Montana, I don't think their are as many military, but it should also be close.

Senator John McCain said it well on Tuesday. The Republicans took power in Congress in 1994. They went to Washington promising change and instead, he said, simply became "part of the government". He is exactly right, and I say that as a long-time Republican.

Actually he said "...we went to Washington to change government, instead the government changed us." Very true. They all shifted from the center all the way to the freaking right and started subscribing to a idiotic dictatorship like ideology. May Bush eat s**t now!

Yesterday was a good day for America, congratulations.

Hopefully the next 2 years will see America claim back the moral high ground that the Bush clan have slowly diminished.

A fair min. wage, responsible federal fiscal policy, comprehensive healthcare, transparent and accountable government, reinstating the US constitution in full and a foriegn policy that values all human life regardless of nationality.

No more arrogant answers to very important questions by Rummy.

Seriously? We're going to end the welfare state and return state powers?

Oh, you're only talking about a tiny bit of the 'constitution'. All the rest could be kicked to the side.

Are you kidding? I am teaching my kids Arabic so they will be able to blend in to the “New Direction” that’s coming once the take over happens.

I just don’t know if I can get used to wearing a towel on my head, but whatever, I am a survivor.

Well, I don't like the fact that Republicans are into a sort of blind-sight view on security...almost willing to give up certain things; but on the other note, I think Dems sometimes overemphasis certain things.

As far as the Constitution goes, both sides have kicked in the balls. Even more so from judicial activism. The courts enabled left programs to exist or expand, beyond the authority of the Constitution.

Welfare in it's many forms is not a part of federal authority. States, maybe, but not federally.

The clauses on government's right to regulated commerces has been grossly expanded beyond the views of any of our founders. Anywhere from illegal drugs, to regulating industries, or legal drugs for that matter.

Our constitution has been slowly degraded by both sides, for quite sometime. I don't see Bush as the starter of anything, he just part of the chain in my view.

I would say putting people in prison without the right to a fair trial is the biggest breach of the constitution in recent times.

Are Americans happy that their Government does this? Proud?

I would say most people don't even know because the Bush clan white wash everything with their own spin.

Somewhat true, but federal mandates and funding keep the state programs afloat.

While you two run like cowards, the rest of us will actully be behind the president and the house and the senate cleaning this mess up, crushing terrorism and winning in Iraq.

It's sad to see you two so weak you give up this easy. What's the matter, don't you play well with others?

    You, behind the president? ROFLMAO!

You should appreciate my comments that you referenced as sarcasm. It's been a fun day watching "you guys" suddenly change your positions, devoid of "diebold" and "election fraud," etc. It's been a fun day for me, watching it all :)

Many in the party you rooted for have directly called for "cutting and running." Just last week, you proclaimed defeat on behalf of your country. Today, not knowing any plan from Democrats, because they don't have one, you claim "us" will be behind the president and ready to win. Welcome back, Kotter!

Could anything describe "four year patriotism" more precisely?

When Liberals stand for anything, let me know.

I for one would like to start a new towel manufacturing company online and here in America. I will hire Amnesty-Mexicans to work Minimum wage jobs (should be $15 dollars in hour once Dems vote) get my textiles from North Korea and hire happy married gay men to run management. After all I don’t want to pay fines for government infractions on my new business.

We will make sure no mention of god is made in the building; (sorry, Muslim is ok) especially that Christian crap, and will set up day care for lesbians who adopted children, but can not stay at home financially. After all it is better for two mommies to raise a child then unloving heterosexuals (which most are according to polls).

All men will be required to take ballet classes to undue any macho thoughts and actions.

It is our goal at TowelsForAmericanHeads.com that all Americans are quickly suited for the “New Direction” and feel comfortable (blending in) their new America.

I am so glad my children are learning Arabic, Spanish, and Liberal so that will be able to adapt in this new work environment.

Don’t worry; I will still run the underground movement of fat Americans who want to save their heads, but I must first take advantage of this new business opportunity.

So those towels ought to run, what, about $400.00 a piece? Let's go ahead and move the sneaker factories here too. $800.00 sneakers! No one can afford them, but hey, they were made with high paid labor right here at home! When they go "belly up" the democrats can blame republicans!

I will make sure the federal government will pass laws and levies against personal property so that the towel-tax will be paid. I was thinking, $500 a towel should cover the cost in manufacturing.
And if you do not have personal property that can be leaned, will make sure you have a job at night working at a Circle-K where you can see towels who have paid, hard at work.

Wow! That couldn't be farther from the truth. The GOP took over Congress in 1994 after running as conservatives. Since then they drifted to the left and into the "big government" mode, rather than staying with the conservative principles they campaigned on.

This conservative says they got the smackdown at the polls that they deserved.

I don't think it will be something wildly misused, but I understand your sentiment. There are people have have been sort vindicated, and released after a year or so. That's a terrible thing, but it's not as expansive as perceived.
I don't know. I tend to think financial slavery on a large scale is worse, but that's just my opinion.
There are times I mildly defend some of their programs. I think it's the details I disagree with, but I fundamental dislike the program.
