That is pretty funny. I'm sure Senators Rick Santorum, George Allen and others from the Republicans who lost were in on this secret brilliant strategy. I'm sure the republicans that were trying to develop a permanent majority in the Senate and House were in on this strategy. I'm sure the fund raisers that push for millons and millions of dollars from established monied followers of congress were in on this as the monied interests will start giving to democrats to push their agendas were in on this strategy also.

This must be a secret strategy that only Rove and GTech knew about. I wonder if they told Bush about it?

The bottom line is that the Republicans lost and the Dems won, for the moment!

The proplem for the Dems that I can see is that the Liberal Left has taken the election to be a mandate! In reality let us remember that in 1994, when Clinton lost the congress for the Dems, there were 54 seats lost in the house and 9 or so in the Senate. This was a Republican mandate that held for 12 years. 100% of the Dems who won in the house this time, at one time or another, in their campaigns promised not to raise taxes! The Dems got elected because of an unpopular war and sounding a lot like Republicans.

Now the Dem's dilemma. They ran on and won on a "hate war/hate Bush" platform. I didn't hear one solution to any current problems facing the USA from them, but just their tired rhetoric pointing out the problems. So, where will they go from here? Isn't it a little late to try to find solutions after you are put into power? The answer is yes! So, the Dems must fall back on what they know best.....to raise taxes and be obstructionists. I think I heard that one of the past Clinton dregs is already calling for higher taxes.

So....there you have it in a nutshell! Of course, raising taxes, and no ideas or plans will simply land them back into the minority as the election cycle continues. No need to get mad, just enjoy the show!:D

I don't think anyone has easy answers, including Bush or the Dems. Bush campaigned on having answers, then lost, then immediately got rid of Rumsfeld, embraced working with dems, proposed a guy for the Pentagon that was against the war.

If you think he has answers...then what has he been doing since Tuesday.

We will see how this new government proceeds. Actually, we won't really see it till next year.

What's funny is dems ran on republican values in certain areas to win. So some of their agenda will win in congress, while others are much less important. Either way you got to get your way through the prez. But then again, he's a liberal republican, so who knows....

Maybe not the kind-of liberal you like, but.....

One thing that is bothering me is that I think if the taliban could vote in the American election, would they vote Republican or Democrat? That may sound like a silly statement, but I guess for that one reason I am not rejoicing so much in the Democratic win.

President Bush thinks about terrorist all the time, and it seems like it is his mission to fight them as aggressively as he can. I think people supporting radical Islam hate President Bush and were really happy the Democrats won. Based on that, it made me think maybe I should be voting Republican:)
But on the other issues I probably have more Democrat or liberal views, I think religion and government should be completely seperate. I am pro-choice and don't have a problem with gay people getting married. But if the Democrat fight against terrorism isn't aggressive enough over the next 2 years, I will probably vote Republican in 2008. I still have the memory etched in my brain of the world trade center burning and people falling out of the building and I will never forget the horror of it all. I also believe that another attack is being planned.

of course another attack is being planned there has always been an attack being planned on the US since its inception

They may cheer any obstacle that gets in his way, but Bush has done a lot of what the terrorists wanted, they want our military in the middle east, maybe not the average middle east citizen, but people like bin laden wanted the US to attack and occupy as a result of 9/11, its has rallyed moderate muslims all over the world to his cause. The whole point of doing 9/11 wsa to get an overreation to captilize on.

And we have followed his lead every step of the way, invading Iraq has swelled the terrorists ranks and number of thier supporters

you think its good to be "aggresive" but when you are attacking the wrong people its not a good policy

Bin Laden also wanted our troops out of saudi arabia, they are out now

You are making some very valid points, and I agree with most of it. But my point is, when terrorists are so much in favor of the Democrat party then it makes me want to vote Republican. Thats all.
Something I see in President Bush, is his passion for fighting terrorists. I like that. That is one reason I like him. Yet, I don't think invading Iraq has made us safer. You are right there are more terrorists than ever. But, In middle eastern countries there has been alot of hate for the US for years, way before President Bush even took office. Citizens of these countries get to view hate propaganda every day on television against the US. You can see this if you go here and look at the section media #3
So, I do want a leadership that will take the threat seriously whether they are Rebublican or Democrat. I also pay attention to who the terrorists want in office:)

I just thought of a great political commercial for the Republicans in 2008!
They could get a video of Osama Bin Laden endorsing the Democrat candidate. That would rock!:)

backwards thinking bigots = backwards thinking bigots

There's not many people to the right of me on many issues. I vote for the Conservatives and have done in almost every election I've voted in. (the only exception being tactical voting)
I base my politics on what's right for the country, not on someones skin colour, religion sexuality or accent.
