Chavez is indeed a socialist, but only for now. And anyway, socialism isn't for all. Communism is bad but socialism can be pretty similar and lead to communism and dictatorship. Typically, immigrants go more to countries that aren't socialist, unless they come from communism. Also, Israel simply prooved that they are responsible and did not use the nuke no matter how many chances and excuses. Who would seriously trust Iran? They can't trust themselves, or at least they did say they want to wipe a few countris off the map, right? Were they...just kiddin'? Or counting on people like you, AGS, etc, to be on their side and exploiting the freedom of the countries where you live?
Well sometimes too much freedom is bad, not as much as too little, but still not ideal... The right recipe is still to be invented...
The way you're using it is...Freedom from causality...freedom from responsibility... Extreme leftism is an idealogy void of practicality. Man will always seek power. Whether it's through government, people or business. To either think you can favor one of those or the other, and still not mess-up the balance, has never proven to be right. There are many that taste a bit of both worlds, but no country is suicidal enough to think they can give power to only one interest group. There's plenty of left idealogy in the world and even some forms of socialism, but there's no reputable country that exist purely on socialism. Keywords. Hence my regard. Without private industry they're 'nothing'...atleast to most standards. China isn't really a Communist country. It's an authoritian country w/a loosely regulated economy. In some measures it's structure is less regulated...especially in enviromental concerns. What for...they all depend on private industry. Hell, you're computer depends on private industry. They only operate part of their economy under socialism....and 'operate' isn't really the best word to describe it...it's more like ciphering. There's no wholly independent or competitive function of socialism...it's almost wholly dependent on forcing and redistributing. I wouldn't perceive that to be 'freedom' by any sense of the word. But one can definitely adjust their use of the word 'freedom', and fix it to their idealogy. The current American admin is pretty good at that. So 'was' the extreme left. Yeah, but you got to understand, it's too common to hear those comments. It's often so repetitive that it weakens the 'arguement'.

Makinf all people equal is the way to gain power over them, with a restricted number of followers and supporters, particularly if you make them all equally poor, as in communist countries. Then all you have to do is put the blame on the US and/or Christianity, or even Israel and the Jews. Socialism is a step towards all that in my view.
