Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama sent "here's my V.P." text messages from his own cell phone to 2.9 million people, costing him around 290,000 dollars. The cell company charged him 10 cents for each one.

10 cents per SMS? That's pretty expensive

Definitely worth it to have a database of 2.9 million cellphone #s. They should message those 2.9 million people on election day: "VOTE!"

Thats about as cheap of advertising as you're going to get. Obviously he could have spent less, but in reality, $290,000 is nothing for the buzz that he stirred with the grassroots. Think of millions of people at home, at parties, with other people spreading the message that Barack picked up Biden as VP.

In November, if he does this again to tell fans and donors to vote, he's going to do very, very well.

Barack Obama has spent an amazing amount of money trying to be the leader of the US. If his spending habits continue after he is elected the country will become bankrupt.

 riiiight. Do you realize that the last time we had a Democratic President (Bill Clinton) there was a balanced budget and that under George W. Bush we have the biggest debt in the history of the US? If Obama had been President the last 8 years we wouldn't have been in Iraq which would have saved America another 10 billion dollars a year along with all of the lives wasted in the Iraq war.

I think you meant to say 10 billion per month, not per year.

What exactly does slick willie have to do when big spending Obama? Clinton's action speaks for Clinton not the party.

" If Obama had been President the last 8 years we wouldn't have been in Iraq" We probably would not still be a country. Do you think Obama would have done anything to fight terrorism? He would flip flop sides faster than you can blink.

    Obama is another Carter.

Do you really think so poorly of American citizens, our Military, and our elected leaders that "we probably would not still be a country"?

There are many reasons not to vote for Obama. I would think you might have stumbled upon a legitimate one to post about by now. Guess not.
