Democracy in Search

    I sometimes wonder if SEO or even just search represents any type of democratic situation. Finding a good or service on page 1 of anything does not mean it is better than a result on page 60. Do you think anything can or should be done to change things?

    Google is designed to favor good sites over bad sites. The whole idea of link popularity rightly assumes that better sites will get more links. If you really think the sites on page 60 are just as good as the results on page 1 just search ANY keyword you want and check the results on page 60 and I bet they aren't that great.

    Hi DerkThunder. I don't mean the quality of the website. I mean the integrity of the company that owns it. For instance an underfunded company may have a poor site for economical reasons.
