Dell M1710 vs MacBook Pro

My current laptop is almost dead. I'm now in the process of looking for a new laptop, but I need something powerful enough to play today's games smoothly with maxed out settings. This brings me to the new Dell M1710. I've read a few reviews on it and I've heard nothing but good things.

For the same price ($AUD4800) I could get a 17inch MacBook Pro. However, this only has a 256mb graphics card. The advantage of being able to dual boot is huge, but I've heard macs aren't so great for gaming.

    Thoughts?

Go with a pc! Be like that hip guy on the apple ads. He's the real cool guy on the ads. But if you'd rather support that smug third-rate actor, over the wise poll watcher from the jon stewart show, be my guest.

If you're going play games, go with the Dell. If you like the features of OSX, go with the mac or install a cracked OSX on the Dell ;)

So from one extreme to the next, I've decided to settle for a Dell 9150 desktop. For less than $AUD3k I can get a fantastic gaming machine that won't need to be upgraded for a long time. I'll be using the remainder of my money to upgrade/fix up my current laptop.

I really wish I could go Mac (since they're incredibly sexy) but according to many reviews their gaming performance lacks. It's a shame, I hear life on the mac-side is great.

    Thanks for your input guys!
