I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, when i turn it on it goes to this screen it says. This computer system, #9ST62H1-595B, is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password. Please type in the system or administrator password and press <Enter>. I don't know what to do, I don't have a password, I've gotten a hold of Dell and they can't help me out, does anyone know how to activate a password with the service tag or know a password for the system. I hope that someone is able to help me out. I've tried everything and I thought this might be my last chance. Thanks.
I buddy, I also use Dell inspiron laptop but haven't got such problem..but what can i suggest to you is that maybe you can re-format your laptop unless you got so important documents inside the hard drive.. to back up your data in that hard drive maybe you can boot your laptop using linux os and then copy your file into another storage such as pendrive or CD. I'm not a computer geek and I can only think of this solution
This is a system admin password that won't let you do ANYTHING as its there in case the laptop is stolen. You will not be able to format etc until you enter the admin password. If you are the legit owner of the laptop then you can call DELL and they will give you a temp one. I'm not sure if a boot cd will bypass this to let you dump your data to another drive or maybe even format but the admin password will stay as its hardcoded to the board. There are also unlocking services on Ebay but they can be expensive Regards
