Dell Inspiron 530s Loud Fan

I bought a Dell Inspiron 530s a few days ago.

Everything is great, but the fan is driving me crazy.

It seems to be running on full speed all the time.

Do you know if it's possible to do something about it?

Go into the bios, you can tune that in the bios.

Should be easy, my tech told me about it, worse come you can still load up the default setting.

I have been looking at the bios, but I couldn't find anything related to the fan.

Not sure what to look for - other than fan :)

You may need a new fan.

Bios settings can help you but it will be better to call their representative... They will do the needful because you have recently purchased it.

Get a quieter fan, try using Speedfan (free software), or run the fans at a lower voltage using something like a FanMate.

I've got Panaflo fans on my PC, slowed down or completely stopped with Speedfan, and made even slower in the cooler months by using a few FanMates. I can barely hear if my PC is on when I'm sitting at my desk.

Read here for a crap load of quiet pc info: http://www.silentpcreview.com/
