I live in europe and for my business I would like to buy a new laptop and PDA. I check Dell for the best offers and was suprised at the huge price differences between my country and the US. PDA Here USD 530 before TAX US is USD 399 before TAX LAPTOP Here USD 1340 before TAX US is USD 989 before TAX In totaal there is 482 USD difference! Shipping from US cost as much as shipping locally. So what should stop me from buying from the US? Do you have experiance with this?
In the UK for example you can get hit with hefty customs and excise charges when importing electrical goods which may eat up any gain.
I was thinking that also... but doesn't dell calculate all those charges when you finish selecting your computer and add it to your cart?
I have orderd other (electronic) stuff from the US and have never had a tax problem. Only problem is with the plug, but that can be solved for less than 2 USD
You are personally responsible for any duty/tax when it comes into the country Dell would not be responsible so you may have it held by the post office until you agree to pay a bill, I dont know the details but worth checking before you make a move.
