Deleting xml sitemap files

    After installing the Google XML Sitemap plug-in I keep getting an error message when i try to view it.
    Are the sitemap.xml and .gz the only 2 files that this plug-in installs in the root directory?

    I want to delete these 2 files and try a fresh install of the plug-in.

    You just disable your code from robot.txt file.

    I am resuming that you have of WordPress website. All you have to do is simply log into your FTP client and hit delete
