I created a thread a few months ago I'd like to delete.
Does anyone know if I'm able to do this? I did a search on the forums but nothing jumped out.

The correct procedure is to post a reply to the thread stating that it wasn't you who posted but {your cat} | {your dog} | {your bratty little brother} | {a friend playing a prank} | {a hacker} using your account and that you categorically deny all claims made in the post.

The voices in my head told me to do it.

    haha minstrel...

i'm curious though, why would OP want to delete a thread that's a few months old? if it were me i'd just leave it since it's forgotten anyway. :)

As it contains the web address of my website and I've expressed my opinions on controversial issues on this forum. I would rather not associate my personal opinions with my web address.

That's why you should think about the consequences of what you post BEFORE you hit submit. Preview and post and read it through first. I must admit I have abandoned dozens of posts due this moment of 'rationalization'.

What you post on the net will remain for life. Even if we delete it it is still in Google, Archive, copied by others etc.

I have obscured website addresses before on request. As long as it doesn't take the whole thread out of context, it's fine. PM me if you want me to check.
