Someone wanna explain to me why Google would still be trying to spider 500+ pages that...

1.) were deleted from the site one year ago
2.) have been returning 410 GONE for 10 months
3.) and have been removed from the index using the URL Removal Console TWICE?

    Short answer = Big Daddy

Google answer = "bad data push"

Right answer = Welcome to the Google Supplemental Hell / Deindexed / Serp dropped / 404 error / Old cached data CLUB! May God have mercy on your soul. And your bank account.

    1.) Incoming links perhaps?

2.) 410 is a cacheable response unless otherwise indicated. Googlebot does not know if the GONE condition is permanent, so it saves the url to be checked again at a later date. Change to 404 - Not Found to remove them permanently.

    3.) See 1 and 2.
