Deleting pages and SEO

I have some pages on my site (music one) and some of them have videos but are broken, so the pages are deleted.

Should I continue deleting the pages, or should I leave the pages there with broken videos, but just telling them that its not working.

Cause I'm also looking at the SEO factor that if pages are constantly being deleted and added, thats seen good.

I prefer PHP for redirecting. Is that the best solution, a redirect?

But better leave them there with the broken files, or delete them?? I'm wondering whats better for SEO ..

Constantly adding and deleting pages, or only adding and building up forever.

I'd always try to avoid deleteing pages that have been cached. If there's any way around it then leave the old page up.
Just add new content and don't worry about deleting old!

Leave the page and find a way to list similar content to the deleted content. That way you keep the visitors happy and preserve any rankings the page may have had.

Either dont delete them or redirect them to your home page using a 301 redirect, nothing else!

If a page is no longer useful, why keep it? I add and delete pages all the time. Doesn't hurt at all.

He can always delete them, but its better to use a 301 redirect especially if the pages are cached in Google, that way, visitors coming from SE's or from other sites that might be linking to that page wont land on a dead one.

    you have 3 solutions

1 - leave old page up, and put a note on it saying this page has moved (and put new location) or put this page is no longer here.
    2 - Do a pretty 404 error page with a site-map on it.
3 - 301 redirect the broken page to home-page or nearest directroy page e.g if page was in /dir/fot/page.html redirect to /dir/fot/

Deleting the pages is not the solution. If those pages cached by google then don't deleted only make some changes like content, images or whatever services u provide.

That is not a smart move at all if your referring to a 301 redirect (duplicate content issues) Best to setup a custom 404 error page to capture 404 traffic.

I don't agree with your idea of deleting and adding same over and over to get good ranking and search results, But the content should be new / modified.

Don't delete the video file, but edit/modify the video file.
