I usually avoid this section of the forums as much as posible because one can get so much red rep around here xP but I feel this needed to be spoken about.

Today I found out about another incredibly unconstitutional law being posed in the United States and, if it’s passed, will most likely sneak it’s way into the United Kingdom’s legal system that will stop you from accessing hundreds of websites.

    More at my blog.

People call this unconstitutional, but all it's really doing is taking more responsibility away from the parents.

Parents are the best way to protect from online predators, but the thing nowadays is parents just don't care, unfortunately.

    Its censorship, plain and simple.
It will affect everyone with a forum, blog, flickr account, etc
    Including yours.

I wouldn't say it's unconstitutional, but I am against the act nonetheless. It's just a shame that congress needs to pass it...

Hopefully it will only affect sub 18 year olds.
Imagine being locked out of your own forum kid.

Free Speech is limited on public property e.g schools and libraries. Free speech applies primarily to private property. I can't just go into a school and speak about porn in front of the classroom....I would likely get kicked out.

While I don't like public schools, they have to have reasonable controls of what is and what isn't acceptable in their institutions.

Public internet access terminals also include internet cafes.
So what happens when you cant update your blog from somewhere your IP address cant be traced directly to you.
its an attempt to censor and limit access to the internet.
and accessing a blog or a forum is hardly high risk.
    this is very very bad.
anyone who dosnt think so need help.
the goverment is slowly chipping away at the rights of the individual.
