Deleting listings in low PR directories?

Is there an easy way to do this? My site currently has a PR5 and I recently found my site in some directories with PR1. I don't want their rank to affect mine or is that something that shouldn't concern me?

Not sure what you are explaining here, is it that you do not want your Directory in any other than PR5 up Directories?

Is that what you mean and you want all submittals that are in Directories below PR5 to be removed?

A link to a low PR is nothing to be concerned about as has already been said. If you are linked to a bad site that has been banned though, that would be a link to think about having deleted.

PR can go up and it can go down. It's not everything though.

If you only get backlinks to directories with higher PR than your own, you're going to have a lot of work to do. In fact, the odds are better that they will be PR 5 along with you, before you ever get PR 6.

Leave them, unless it is a site that Google has banned.

Just forget about them. The only reason you have PR5 is because of the sum of the value of your inbound links, and these low PR links will be making up a small part of your score.

How could it possibly affect you? If it actually affected people then a bunch of low ranked directories could link to competitors to harm them.

My view on this, is that you must evaluate your link profile. If you only have links from low quality directories, yes I think they will hurt same as if you only have links from directories even high quality.

You must have a diversified profile, where you have links from diferent sources directories, homepages, internal pages, sitewides, articles, blogs etc.

Also if you only have links from quality sites that could also be strange and look manipulated, because is normal to have low quality links.

how could links from low profile or low page rank directories will hurt a site s page rank ? there is no way a link from low Pr directory would hurt the PR of the site

Google has only devised a method for Updating and downgrading the PR of a website according to inbound and outbound links and not according to inbound link from a low Pr site

I am not talking PR (PR is almost useless) I am talking about SERP.

    Sorry I misunderstood

If you are talking about Serps then what you said may be correct

But links from different sources(like Dmoz) greatly influence SERPs in Google

Thanks all! I just want to make sure I'm not going to hurt my meager SEO work I've done thus far on my site.

Just don’t submit to anymore low quality directories, the low quality links will probably disappear over time, when low quality directories disappear, the ones that remain will probably improve quality as time goes by.

Low quality directories don't often get their pages indexed anyway, so it's not an issue. The fact is, that inbound links don't hurt you. If they did, then your competition could hurt you.

those links can't affect your actual PR. be happy for those links even if are PR1 and try to get even more, links are a long term investment!
