Deleted thread in P&R, Why?

I received an infraction (which is ok, not complaining) for

By deleting the first post, the entire thread was deleted, and while the mod may have felt the post wasn't long or wordy enough, it did spark a conversation about the topic.

Video and YouTube are fast becoming a communications media, supplanting the written word. I think it is unreasonable for a cutting edge webmaster forum to delete a thread, started about a video, a video that asks a question, contains information etc.

I'll even take a second infraction point, but please restore the thread. Deleting polite and relevant conversations like this does not seem reasonable to me.
