Hi guys so recently I nuked the old part of my site because I didn't like the design and the new structure is far nicer. Anyway I posted all my old content on my wordpress version of the site and set that all up. Now I looked at google webmaster and saw that I was ranking on the first page for some keywords, however when I looked to see what pages they were I found that they were the old site and the new site has not been updated.

How long does it take for google to look at all my new pages and delete the old ones?

The cache is not always the last viewed page by google. It is the last available page to the users of google.

It depends on the rate that your site is indexed, so only you know (or dont know) this. It will probably result in a temporary drop in results and you may not appear in google for weeks/months with the new page but it will get back up there if it has backlinks and useful content.

Make sure you 301 your old pages into new relavent pages so you keep their search juice.

Dont worry about the cache, not worth getting obsessed by, spend time on other more useful things :)

404 pages are bad, try making a redirect to site homepage.

As alldaylinks mentioned you should 301 redirect your old site to the new one. Perhaps build a few links to the new website also.

If your still having problems perhaps post your url.

Is this an official statement from google or is it one of the assumptions by us.
