    Hi,

We just received a email stating that our Google Analytics account have been deleted.

    The message we received was:

We want to alert you that the Google Analytics account www.zzz.com
has been deleted by [removed person's email address].

Can you help us recover the account as there are many clients for which we are tracking sites.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciate.

    Thanks,

Is there anything that can be done to retrieve the data?

Sorry to hear that happened. If it's any consolation, you're not alone.
Check this Google support forum thread for more info. Hope it helps you.

They claim at least that once the account is deleted then it's gone, although whether that's actually the case only Google knows. Suspect whatever happens they'll keep the data, but I guess this person was an admin on the account otherwise there's a serious security hole. Could try the support team if they have one for Analytics (free version anyway), but wouldn't hold your breath. Just in future be very careful who you add as an admin to the profiles.
