Hi Folks, Do Adwords remember past historical CPC & CTR in deleted campaigns?. How to completely delete "deleted campaigns"?, campaigns with status marked as deleted. If it can't be deleted, how to make adwords not remember past historical CPC & CTR with previous campaigns?. I really want to start fresh. Thx!
I can't believe that they would track deleted campaigns etc. What a huge amount of data they would be trying to track and for what reason. If it really worries you, why not just open another account?
The simple answer is yes, they do (Whether it is for all time I am not sure but certainly the last 12 months data is available for everything in your account.), and no, you cannot "completely delete" anything. I don't think they would need to save and track the individual data. It depends how they calculate them but I would hazard that the factors dependent on history are constantly updated on a rolling basis and that history is already "built into" the existing figure. (Hope that makes sense!)
Thx, what I actually want to delete is my past historical CTR/CPC for some campaigns of mine . I had a poor performance with that campaign because I was experimenting. I want to start afresh so that I can reduce cost signficantly.
Does anybody know how long it takes Google to adjust quality scores when CTR goes up? I know it's weighted historically so the newest stuff is more important, but not sure how that weighting works. Example: after a year of not paying much attention to Adwords, I've managed to double my avg CTR in the last few days (0.5% to 1.0%). So how long do I have to wait before I start to see the benefits of that? A week? A month? Another year?
QS is now "dynamic" and recalculated every time a search is made on your keyword. So, theoretically, any improvement in CTR should immediately reflect in QS. However, the actual importance of current CTR in calculating QS is probably less than that of historical CTR (It is hard to imagine how it could be otherwise since CTR can fluctuate considerably from day to day.) so the likelihood is that it will take a considerable while for CTR to significantly impact QS, e.g. sustained improvement over a week or a month. The weight of CTR in determining QS would appear to be fairly low, anyway - it is quite possible to have a QS 9 or 10 keyword with very low, even 0%, CTR. What does seem to effect QS more or less immediately is ad-text, destination and display urls, and possibly landing page quality.
