Delete Categories in WP from phpmyadmin using Msql Query?

    Hi Guys,

    I know I can do this from the admin panel but I have imported a database which is huge and i want to get rid of all the unwanted categories, there are quite a few and its taking me ages to delete them from wp-admin.

    can i do this using the mysql query? DELETE FROM

    help appreciated.
