Delay in Connecting to the Internet

When I start my computer and click on my IE button, it seems that every day it's taking longer and longer for the Internet to load (My homepage is yahoo). Today it took over 10 minutes to connect from the time that I booted up.

But once I'm in, everything seems to work fine in terms of speed in turning web pages, switching to other sites, opening and working with Email, etc. (except when McAfee is updating my virus protection files files; then I can't get anything done.)

So I don't know if the lag problem is with my computer, my browser, Yahoo, or -?

This could be the solution, if the problem remains, just format and reinstall the OS.

Are you running a firewall? (and I don't mean the Windows firewall).

Check your logs and see if any other applications are sucking up your bandwidth.
