Really. And how much are you prepared to back up that guarantee?

Various jurisdictions have various laws about recording phone conversations.
One doesn't have to follow the example of the other.

You might want to look up the laws about that in your jurisdiction.

Sorry to hear that happened to you.
I always ask for wire transfers from people who are unwilling to give complete contact information.
I also give complete contact info, as well as my phone number.
If they decline, there is no deal.
If it had been done by wire it is a federal crime. It doesn't help you now, but maybe it will help someone in the future.
Good Luck dude, I hope you get some satisfaction.
It should be easy to get his IP address, contact the ISP with your police report, and go from there.
It should be easy to serve a warrant or summons after that.
    Hope that helps.

I had something similar but it was for a much less amount.
I don't think PayPal are very good for giving users their money back :(

PayPal already ruled in favor of him.

Saying that it was an intangible item and there is nothing they can prove stating that I did not receive it.

I mean I would need to get in contact with the righteous owner of the website and have him say "No this was not me selling the site.", even then they still would have probably ruled in favor of him.

Just a big loop-hole in there system which I plan to exploit and expose it in a blog entry soon.

I hope you've learned something. ALWAYS use ESCROW.COM for purchases over $100.

Going to exploit it? Sounds like you're no better than him if you're going to use the same trick to exploit someone. Unless of course, you're doing a "proof of exploit" with a friend... for some insignificant amount

I guess you mis-interpreted / misunderstood, I meant that I am going to blog the process on how I was raped for almost $1k, and PayPal knows how it went and still says that nothing can be done about it.

Hey now, calm down. I should included in there that I am not lawyer and I'm just trying to make suggestions. If I could go back and edit that now I will, but I can't.

Calm down. I simply am just trying to help and if I can't do that without having someone tell me me advise was stupid I might as well just leave this section alone. I know I was wrong, but we are here to accuse the topic of this post. Paypal. Not me.

Meaning, I'm not prepared to back up that guarantee and cant. Take a break and realize I'm just trying to provide suggestions.

    I'm not a lawyer.

Peace. I won't be coming back here =p.

Paypal cannot be trusted with this kind of thing - unfortunately its not always convenient to use another method, and hindsight is great, but Paypal really can't be trusted, especially with large amounts.

i dont know enough about payapl. but go call them that it could be proved that domain is not transfer, for which u paid. Secondly if u dont have enough proved then let asked him what he had sold u for $900...even paypal has not enough proof/details about that deal but they know very well that u transfer $900.stress on your words. call them again bcoz its not small amount.

PayPal already ruled in favor of him.

Saying that it was an intangible item and there is nothing they can prove stating that I did not receive it.

ask paypal to ask seller that he should proved that he has sent that item

i mean if u dont have proof, what he has?

Ow! That would seriously suck. I know that PayPal is pretty unstable wehn it comes to the law. I think if you took this to the courts they would lose. They've already lost numerous cases against them :) They deserve it!
