you have probebly many links to your site , try and se list of backlinks in google , yahoo and alexa , and you se immidately what is the difference between the three, and your answer is also here. but i guess en quality link is a link from a site that have a pr higher than yours and with the same concept or relevant, and naturally linked.
A quality backlink has many definitions as you may have seen by now. I would define a quality backlink as a link from a relevant website to your website. Of course you want to be linked from the home page because that is the likely page to be indexed by the search engines and if it is indexed already then great. Once you know that the website you are trying to get linked from is relevant then you want to focus on what your anchor text is from that website. You want to ensure that your anchor texts are keywords that are searched alot so take the time to do the research necessary to find in-demand keywords. That is what I suggest because sometimes even though the website I am receiving a link from is not necessarily an authority in my niche but the fact that it was relevant was good enough to up my Google PR after I got a few of those links. Of course you want to get links from other authorities in your niche because those would make a great difference but other relevant websites really help aswell.
They do help, but they can hinder. If you were - say - a credit card site, and somehow managed to get a link from NASA, you wouldn't get much increase in the SERPS for credit card keywords, but you WOULD get an increase in space exploration keywords. In fact, google will end up being confused as they'd think "Well, NASA - a PR10 space exploration site is linking to this site, this site said credit cards, but I trust NASA!". Happened to a friend of mine, who got linked from a governmental domain in the UK for his football tv site, sure enough, he was high in the serps for fire safety tips - which was the theme of the page he was linked from! So, as I always say - RELEVANCE over RANK
The best link you can get is one that is natural. Or at least you make it look like one. Everyone talks about natural links, relevant links and related links, but what is that exactly? You always get that sort of generic reply. To break the silence, I will define. The best links (that you can acquire) are contextual and those from a link bait. Why? Because they ARE natural and the most hard ones to get or for the spammers to "fake". A link from a signature is easy, so is from a directory, home page, sitewide, from a blog comment... the hardest ones to get are contextual and thus these are most valuable. Now to get a good response from a link bait, you need some smart marketing. You will need to provide something that sets you apart from the crowd, may it be a service or something in your content. Whatever you do, do not put up fake stories as a link bait. It's stupid and it will destroy your websites reputation. A proper link bait is not easy to execute and you would need a lot of creativity and/or professional assistance to make it as successful as possible. For the later you will need funds in the four digit area. But the good news is, getting contextual links from related websites is easier! That doesn't mean you won't have to work for it though. You get these link by providing value. How? Every webmaster needs content, the more you have the better the chances are someone from the SEs will stumble upon your website. So what you do is get around 10-100 articles written for this campaign. One article will be for one website, NO DUPES. Make them good and make them interesting! Then you search for broadly related websites and email their webmasters. Don't just send your article. Tell the webmaster that you like the website and would love to provide them with a professional article you wrote, but would like personal confirmation first. Ask them where you can send it. Explain them that the article is written JUST FOR THEM and is unique. Then make the whole process as easy as possible for the webmaster. Pre-format the entire article (along with your link and anchor somewhere in the article) with html code. All the webmaster needs to do is copy and paste. The easier you make it for the webmaster, the better your chances of success. Market your websites the smart way.
Would you link to expand on this link bait concept.. I am not sure exactly what you are talking about.. I like to have a full understanding.. I would be greatly appreciated. I know alot about SEO and link building but I can always learn more and that is what I am trying to accomplish by being involved here.
