How would you, as a webmaster, define quality traffic? I have seen people call digg traffic and myspace traffic as poor quality but will it also not be good if targetted properly? What has been your experience? Which kind of traffic have you found 'good'?
Targetted unique visitors that have lots in common with the content of a specific site, so they stay longer and tend to clik on ads...
Could any of you elaborate on the type of traffic that also works? For example Adwords traffic, article directory traffic etc?
Adwords works well, more you spend, more you get traffic. It is trageted also. Article and directory is not very good...at least for me. I know also a couple of way for heavy targeted traffic on a short term (1-2 days), but I need to keep it for myself unfortunately for you...
The best kind of traffic is the kind that goes to your site because it has what their looking for. With quality content, you strive to make them repeat visitors. AdWords is a little pricey and you have to consider the ROI. If you are selling something and can convert the traffic into a sale...that's great. AdWords would be an example of targeted traffic...since your ads appear on websites that are relevant. If you are not selling anything, and you only hope to make money off of visitors clicking on your ads, AdWords is probably not the best way to go since it will end up costing you more (ask me how I know).
we live and we learn. I like to think about it this way...if I didn't blow my money away on Adsense, I wouldn't be on here giving my advice. You know how mom always said don't touch the stove it's hot....I never believed her.
Can you be more specific? For example when you say 'more conversion', which type of traffic has performed for you (and if possible please mention the niche also). Adwords, Digg, press releases, forums etc..
