my server had been DOS attack.I reported some of suspected ip`s to their datacenters. they say maybe attackers use IP address spoofing.my question is what I must do to prevent ip address spoofing.server manager says he has installed firewall , is it enough or it needs any other actions?
firewalls do help to block ips and ports but if someone is hitting you with alot of 100mbit, gbit or faster servers on a ddoss attack it will be hard to prevent it unless you get your current ip address nulled and use a different one. there is also services you can buy that have ddoss attack prevention but im not sure if its hardware or software based, as in its only available with the service you buy from a provider.
