Hi,All I am confused about Google keywords tool lately, i use the keyword "pendant gift", "cz silver pendant" as the keywords of my site www.selljewelrygift.com, both of them rank at first at SERPs, which have about 70,000 monthly searches together. However, There are seldom visitors come across my website through Google. Why? When I use exact search match type to find out that less than 500 monthly searches of the two keywords, how come that huge difference between exact search and broad search? Could somebody help me out with this? Thanks.
With broad search your results include "free gift pendant" , "my friend is a gift and a pendant", "is pendant a good gift" , "shops gift pendant", "great pendant gift" and whatever other query that includes the words "pendant" and "gift" With the exact match you get only results for when the user types in "pendant gift" exactly with no other words included. ([pendant gift] )
How long have you been running the campaign? For your campaign, use a phrase match and you should see some boost in impressions/clicks.
Thanks very much for your help, so you mean that we should focus on exact match when doing SEO, rather than broad match type?
Well, it is different in each case... However, for you I would not want someone hitting your ads that wasn't looking for an uncommon term that just so happened to contain the strange variations that can occur. Ideally, try these phrases: "pendant gift" "gift pendant" "gift pendants" "silver pendants" etc... Try the phrase match, but create an Ad Group focused on a specific niche "Silver Pendants" then only have silver pendant containing phrases or keywords. Another Ad Group for "Silver Jewelry" etc... Just try to keep tightly grouped keywords. It will help keep your CTR/CPC in line. The better CTR, the more often Google will want to push those relevant searchers towards your ad (regardless of CPC).
Thanks very much for your advise. I know Adwords is somehow related to SEO, but now I would like to take priority of the free SEO.I'll take your advise when running campaign.Maybe I should change the keywords a little bit.
Well, we use a blend of PPC/SEO for clients. We use PPC to test the best converting keywords then apply to our SEO models. Often, biz owners don't want to wait 4-6 months for SEO movement. PPC gets immediate traffic, results and data. As long as you are working with someone competent, your rewards will outweigh the risk in the long run. Make sure you find someone who will focus on SALES as the end goal... That's what keeps you in business - obviously.
Wow,that sounds cool, It's a good way to contain keywords into meta, title, description, articles ect., according to the Google keywords tool, I mean, not the main keywords of our own websites, but keywords related to the main keywords.
