Buying Dedicated Web hosting

I am shopping around for a dedicated web server for web hosting. I am starting a website that will be very popular based on Craigslist. Now the ideal situation would be that I have a hosting company that will grow is I do. My present provider is shared hosting and they will just shut down my site if I start slowing down the server. I need a web provider that is great, will start on shared hosting and grow from there. Any one have any suggestions?

Budget depends on sales on the website. I do not have the software at present, but should be receiving it in a couple of days.
After my Beta testing, I should be able to put it on a server. Updating servers after time is not a big deal. (Providing it is just overnight for one night). Just want to make sure that what I get, can handle any load I can put on it. Expect to advertise nationwide offline within the next year. It is very important to keep a very tight budget until I am ready to do that. The web site will only be serving the local area, to start and growing from there. I am set up to use sales people to sell to local businesses, and will expand nationwide. This is a service that businesses need, as well is their customers. Again, think of it like a paid version of Craigslist, so the server demand will start small and grow quickly and will have spikes in server demand.
I don't know much about the server end of it, but I do know that it needs to be dependable, reliable and to be able to run my software smoothly and without problems. I am trying to find out everything I can before I commit myself to any company. Ryan- I will tell you this, I am a person that likes to deal one to one rather then a major corporation. I like the customer service. After initial start up, uploads will be less then 1% of Bandwidth used.
I have received P/M's with questions and suggestions, so I posted this to answer those P/M's to answer the questions. The key is to start cheap is possible and go from there.

Budget is $70 a month, and will pay in advance. Need Linux hosting for one domain, and need unlimited sub-domains, have to have at least 60 MYSQL Databases. What can you do? Reply here and P/M to make sure I get it.

Your best bet then will likely be to get a dedicated server. Then you can have as many db's as you require. I assume you do NOT need a cPanel?

You should try a VPS in starting, and, as your website grow, upgrade to a dedicated server. :)

According to your post, it looks a low configuration server costing around $99/monthly will be good to go to start with, this cost should cover cpanel, and cpanel is must, if you are not very much into tech, otherwise it will be difficult for you to work on sites.

How much a server can handle load, it all depends on the server confi, and type of traffic request you have.

If you have good knowledge of handling server than you might not looking for support on dedicated server, which most host may not provide, but if you are not into very much tech stuff, than go with a host, who can support you with setting many things on a server, as different scripts has different requirements.

Dedicated server with cPanel for $99/mo.? I'm assuming this is a typo. I don't know of anyone that offers anything like that.

So what you are doing is advertising your own services?

OP $70 is a very good budget, you can probably find something below that range in the offer section plus you would be better off with a server rather than a VPS. I guess some providers are not allowed to advertise their services in forums.
