Friends and family are always tough ones to call. If you keep your "friends" hat on then it's made even more difficult, if you put your "business" hat on then it becomes clearer. You, as his friend, don't want to damage the relationship, but he clearly doesn't think the same way as you do or else he would MAKE SURE his payments were made on time.

It could be he is having financial problems and you may want to allow some leeway. IF he's just stringing you along, going out on weekends spending money then that clearly isn't the issue. Have a word with him, tell him you can't let things stay that way much longer, and that you'd appreciate him paying is overdue invoices now and future ones on time because you need the income to run your business.

We have a custom-built invoicing system that is fully integrated with our accounting system and requires little manual intervention. Unfotunately we pay a lot of money every month for the custom software.

I looked at WHMCS and like what I see. The invoices themselves aren't pretty but they are functional. You can automate your whole billing system with it and I'm sure other billing systems are the same. We're going to give it a trial run with some of our new shared hosting accounts to see how it goes. Using WHMCS would save us several hundred dollars a month in comparison to the system we use now.

That depends on your level of skill or knowledge or control panel. If you're using a Control Panel most of them allow some form of control over accounts and whether they operate or not. As a hosting company we have direct control over the server so suspension of parts of an account e.g. FTP access, is easier for us. There's probably something you can do.

Products like WHMCS integrate with many control panels and have automatic suspension capabilities depending upon their integration with the control panel and how you set them up. They also have automatic reminders and allow your customers to view their invoices online.

As I say, I've only looked at WHMCS and we're about to trial it, but I'm impressed at what it does for so little cost.

Thanks Ron, you have really opened my eyes, and I am so grateful for your help.

Good news, I found 2 billing system; the one mentioned WHMSC, and ClientExec.

I have reseller account for hosting and domain names. In my hosting account I have a WHM cpanel, and I can decide to chose either WHMCS or ClientExec.
I guess for me, it's knowing where to go from there. What am I suppose to do, once I've installed my billing system? Do I style the look to fit my design on my website? Am suppose to build a page somewhere on my website, so my clients can login to their billing account? I have no clear picture on how it should look like??

I feel I'm on the right track though (I think)

    Thanks
