I'm going to get a dedicated server. I was wondering where most people get them. I hear people talk about theplanet.com. It looks good to me, but wanted to ask on DP. Thanks.
I'm looking for dedicated to. I read someone saying its not a good idea cause google will spot you hosting to many domains on it and might punish you. Makes no sense to me but I read it.

Just doesn't make sense for google to punish anyone on any of their servers. Now would it? Best places I've rented dedicated servers is from Liquidweb , Rackspace, Hostgator, Wired2host Just put those names in google to get an idea of the different prices of dedicated hosting. Hope this helps.
even if you buy shared hosting, you are hosting tons of domains on the same ip. i doubt anyone can issue one ip per domain(there arent so many ips) so that doesnt make any sense. regarding dedicated servers, there are tons of providers(me being one of them) depending on your needs, you can chose.some have managed servers, most have unmanaged ones.also, depending on where you want the servers(where most of your users will be from you can chose)
Try SoftLayer, i only hear mostly good thing about them. I MYSELF is on SoftLayer for almost 3 months now. Their server is good, low downtime, support good and it's fast.
Thanks. When you get a dedicated server do you have to do the entire setup. I've never run a server, just windows which I am good at. If I just want to put my domains in at the root level, use email, and security will I be ok by myself or will I probably get stuck. Godaddy wants $200 to set it up.
