Is there anything that you are specifically looking for?

    Managed vs Unmanaged?
    Unmetered bandwidth?
    Control Panels?
    etc...

This will help narrow down the number of providers.

Mosso.com is awesome. "Mosso scales automatically and additional capacity kicks in as you need it. There's no hardware to buy and you only pay for what you use."

Inetu.com is expensive as hell but great for managed dedicated servers and clusters.

    or

    The Planet

It is more important whether you need a cheap solution or prefer to get something customized for you. This will help you to classify web hosts at least in 2 categories.

I would like to stay in the cheap range because I don't know how much of a load I'll need in the beginning. LayeredPanel will be installing the OS over linux so I don't think I need it managed.
