Dedicated IP Help

[ I think this is the right section.. I keep getting red infractions for posting in the wrong place, so if I am wrong pleeaaasseee don't punish me ]

I just bought a Dedicated IP from my host. Basically I want to go to my dedicated IP [ 62.212.74.101 ] and see the contents of my public_html. However, instead I am seeing the cPanel/Apache placeholder page. I HAVE deleted everything in public_html and uploaded a new index.html, but the placeholder page is still there. So what am I doing right?

Any help appreciated!

 

Have you add this new IP to your cpanel ?

 

What do you mean? My host has assigned it to my hosting account. What else do I have to do?

 

If the new Ip already assigned, then the next step is associating a domain to that IP. I don't think it wise to use just IP address to serve your website.

You will need to talk to your host about this. It looks like 62.212.74.101 is the main shared IP address of the server.

 

Contact your to make sure that the dedicated IP address is successfully assigned to your domain.

I think you can add a new domain and associating it with the new IP from cpanel

 

you need to go to whm and Add an A Entry for your Hostname , and also you need to edit your httpd.conf file in your server. if you failed to do just tell your Hosting company to do t for you
