    i asked a potential webhost if dedicated I.P. as a solution to China Blocking

    their reply as follow ?
    What do you think of their reply ?

    i am confused if dedicated I.P. is essential ??
    =====

    I am afraid getting a dedicated IP is often a rumored about but not working way to get your web site accessible and through the great firewall of China.

    If you were placed on a server that was blocked then we could offer you one account move to a different server.

    Another good route to go would be a VPS or dedicated hosting plan. Since they have less customers on them, there is less of a chance it will get filtered out or blocked by China.

    =======

    can't understand why it is a server issue ?
    i guess it should be ip address issue

    No, your URL is blocked as well as IP. Changing Ip will make that IP blocked as well.

    a Static IP isn't going to fix your solution for china blocking, if china blocked your site than no IP address is going to change it's mind.

    Inworx, your host, rcpalace and I are all suggesting the same thing.

    There are two components to the blocking. Ip and url.

    ok. Here's a reply for you:

    No, its not essential for your website to function. It works as well on a shared IP. But it is not a way to get your website accessible in China since IP ADDRESS and WEBSITE address are both two different things.

    This is not a IP address issue nor server issue. Its issue related to China's ISPs/policies.

    Why the host suggested you to change IP or move to a VPS/Dedicated?
    Because that changes your IP address, but if your website address(www.domain.com) is blocked, then this step wont help you either.

    What your host says is correct, partially. Reason is stated above.
