I was wondering if there's a negative effect on having multiple websites on the same IP, is that a big problem with SEO?
What mainly the advantage of having dedicated hosting over Shared Hosting?
Does google treat it as different thing?
Having dedicated Hosting is actually costly than shared hosting.

Just make sure that the shared hosting ip is not black listed if the ip is unlucky shared between a dozen sites its not that big of a deal. Dedicated hosting is good for seo but the effects are negligible.

    N O

    As in NO!!!

The use of different IP addresses for SEO hosting was fabricated entirely by the web hosting industry to bilk customers out of money selling value added services such as additional/multiple 'class c IP's'

Google does not care if your site shares the same IP with other sites.

The main advantage to "dedicated hosting" (I assume you mean dedicated servers?) is having your own dedicated machine which allows you complete freedom to host your own sites. With Shared Hosting you are at the whim of others in that shared environment. You are sharing resources and bandwidth that can easily be abused by other customers. On a dedicated server all the resources are dedicated to you and your sites.

Yes, dedicated servers can cost more than shared hosting. However what they offer in terms of flexibility and autonomy is often times well worth the expense depending on your sites needs.

Yeah, I mean dedicated servers. Is there a way to check if my IP has been blocked?
So I don't have to worry with regards to SEO, since I used shared hosting /server.

Blocked by what specifically? The only thing you'd really have to worry about with your IP is if you intend to have a mail server as well as a web server.

To check the status of an IP address I'd search in a DNSbl DB like this: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

I thought it would be blocked by search engines. I see, so thank you!

Search engines do not black list IP addresses. If they did, there'd be no search results.

Where on earth did you hear this? There's just so much bad information floating around these webmaster forums. Argh!!!

Yes it is. You would get a high risk if you cross linking all websites altogether while they are hosted under the same class C IP. However, the dedicated server does not mean they are perfect for SEO unless they have stated about number of class C IP they could provides.

Shared or dedicated server are not different as long as they are SEO hosting, which has multiple class C IP available for you to choose. It is depend on how large of your website scale. If your website has a ton of traffics or use some heavy script such as PHPbb then you may need dedicated server level instead of shared.
