Hi, Last week I have checked my website it has more than 1 lakh inbound links, but yesterday I checked the same website it shown only 50,000 inbound links. I don't changed anything in my website for the past one month. Kindly provide your suggestion why this huge number is decreased.
There are 4 possibilities: - Maybe sites which were linking to you have turned “nofollow†- Maybe sites which were linking to you have deleted or removed their links - Your spammy backlinks have been devalued - Your backlink checking tool maybe buggy
Thanks Rebecca. Also let me know what are the following means: site:example.com -> internal links link:example.com -> external links This is correct
The search operator site: will show all the indexed pages your site has. Try linkdomain: for the second one to show inbound links. Also, a tool called Majestic SEO is good for checking inbound links.
As DomainBro says, search operator site: shows all the indexed pages of your site. And rather than using link command, You can view external and internal links by selecting a verified site in your webmaster tools account: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/02/discover-your-links.html
