I have a website about 9 months old. I was constantly improving rankings over th weeks. I was ranking 4-6 for about 4 keywords which I target. My approach is to constantly increase the overall links to my websites through various linkbaits + get specific links with anchor text of keywords I target. For some reason last week I started experiencing a decrease in rankings. From 4th to 14th. And as time goes by I am seeing more decrease. Now I am ranking 22nd. I have been working on link building and I have constantly obtained links... ie. I haven't stopped working on link building. But it seems that the more links I am getting the more my rankings are decreasing! Let me know what might be the case..
don't worry about that to mcuh. Add more pages with good content into your site with back links to landing pages. it will come back soon.
it has been already down for almost a week... is it normal for such fluctuations? My competitors don't seem to suffer from it though !
rankings still have not came back to normal... This does not make sense. I have been getting links steadily for sometime now. I got an sudden increase in rankings and stayed up there for something like 3-4 weeks. Now I went back to something like 20-30. I am still getting links daily. Has this ever happened to anyone? First you see a sudden increase (from below 50 to 3-6) in rankings then a drop again (from 3-6 to 20-30) ... Thanks guys
this happened with one of my sites, but it is 2 months old... Like someone said above, add more content to your site.... Google loves fresh content. Also, utilize internal link building if you aren't doing this already. Hope this helps... but don't fret....
Your competitors might be link building like crazy too that's why they rank higher. It's hard trying to up your competition so just add fresh content to your site daily so that it is constantly updated and you'll rank well on different keywords.
First question - do You use "nofollow" attributes for links outside Your site? If not i recommend You to start. Sceond - You have unique content right? :
completely unique content... I don't have links outside of my website... since it is a software company and it simply has it's product shown!
then think about changing Your keywords a little, read some articles about SEO, make it easier for bots to crawl your site (switch from index.php?task=1 to yoursite.com/task1/ ),
A week isn't a good time-frame to look at these things. Google updates regularly - and you are going to see ups and downs on a daily basis. Anyhow - there are two things you can do: 1) keep going (good content, good links) and hope your ratings will improve 2) give up and be sure your ratings will go further down
