While doing some keyword research for a new site with the Google Adwords Tool, I noticed that basically all keywords have a significantly lower amount of searches compared to the months before. In some cases the drop of searches is quite drastic. Of course February is a rather short month, but for as I could see from Search Volume Trends, ALL keywords showed decreasing trend already starting from January. I was wondering if anybody noticed the same trend? Most importantly, did you notice anything in absolute Google traffic to your website? Is this a yearly trend that there are less searches in this season? Is it the crisis? If you want to test it yourself, go the Keywords Tool and check for SEO. (English, all countries). Average: 2.240.000 February: 301.000 Or perhaps the keyword tool just got more refined. The search volume described in the Adwords Tool doesn't come anywhere near the actual number of visitors on my site (nr2) or my competitors on nr 1 (whose webstats I can spy on directly ). He got 19 visitors in December, 17 in January and 17 in February (while the search volume in Adwords was about 1300 before and 590 for Feb). Thoughts and/or experiences anyone?
interesting stats, I have noticed: my google rank for key words is bouncing around my search traffic is low this month
Hello, Yes, as I saw all my keywords ranking similar than the last month, but my search traffic is low this month.
Yes, I've noticed that too for lots of keywords, but not all. I presume it's just Google tweaking how they're counting stuff. Clearly searches for some common words didn't drop by 90% in February, as the keyword tool seems to imply.
