I replied to another post, which was placed in an incorrect thread being "Adwords" and not "Adsense". But the topic got me thinking - I have used Adsense for several years now, but the revenues seem NOT to be increasing much, but the click throughs are and the number of websites I have with adsense has increased. So the average revenue per click is getting smaller and smaller...Is this a general trend? Are Google keeping more for themselves? Are there any viable alternatives apart from YPN which is not available outside the US?
For your websites, you said you've been creating more and more of them. However, are you also updating and marketing them the same way you did when you had fewer sites? If not, that may be the reason why you're seeing this decline in revenue.
I notice too a certain trend in going down, some say it's smartpricing hitting me, some say it's my niches loosing advertisers' interest, or bidders getting cold because of click fraud. But with more clicks than before I earn less dollars. And US dollar is getting weaker every month so it translates into less euros. So I confirm, but then maybe other people have differnet experiences.
Seems like smart pricing is affecting you, or perhaps advertising are not bidding on your subject(s) as much. Diversify from adsense is all I can honestly say if you don't like the payouts. I remember back awhile ago - payouts were pretty good, IMO payouts are getting less and less as google let's the 0.01 made for adsense websites bid on adwords.
