I'm experiencing continuous google adwords traffic decline from late March. Almost 50% drop. So do you guys experience anything unusual on your account too?
Hi, It wouldn't surprise me. Probably another Google arrogant algorythm change or something. A lot of marketers that use PPC are getting away from Google adwords and going with smaller PPC companies. More affordable, less competition, etc. I wish you luck on the adwords campaigns. scott
I noticed a large rise in my ppc traffic for march. Mostly this is due to the fact that this is the peak month for my niche, but no I did not see anything that would indicate and "algorithm change." For the most part, that isn't going to affect ppc, unless they change computation of quality score. May have been that a big competitor entered your market and was outbidding you. Drops from top 2-3 results can SIGNIFICANTLY affect traffic because you are now relegated to the side panel sponsored results for the most part. I'd check the competition, wait a month to see if you experience similar results, check your campaign's quality and landing pages are working properly. After that theres not much you can do except bid up on your keywords and hope. Good luck.
To answer that question I would need way more information than you posted. Are you in the business of selling Christmas Trees? I would suggest you start analyzing your adwords history. Look at your change history which Google is kind to provide. Run reports and see which keywords/ad groups are not performing ( check for things like average position changing). Just look for anything that's different from a month ago. I wouldn't be surprised if its a handful of keywords that are doing bad and causing this drop. You can also check Google trends and Google Keyword performance history and see overall trends over past several weeks.
Is your site competing for seasonal keywords? It is possible to have a drastic change if it is the case. I have a travel site which usually gets drastic increase in traffic during July and August. For example, if you are competing for keywords related to shopping, you might have a great increase during festivals and holidays. You can check your keywords and find out that. Wish that can help you!^^
