Deciding upon a product for Amazon?

Discussion in 'Amazon' started by John9000, Feb 5, 2011.

I am looking to try and create a blogspot solely for amazon.

What is the best way to determine what product to design it around. I feel comfortable writing on anything, but would prefer it to be something I like.

However, what is a good way to pick a product?

    thanks

Find products that meet the following criteria:
    1. Over $100 in price
    2. Lots of positive reviews
    3. 4 stars ratings or more
    4. Have other similar products in the category
    5. Do KW research to ensure good search volume and low competition

I have found the most interesting blogs are those that talk about life. The things you buy, want to buy and why you feel you need them. Why limit yourself to one category [or item] as long it is about your life?

Why am I going to visit your blog if you are only talking about one thing?

    Q...

You want something in a small niche.. something that not everyone is pushing but still gets a lot of keyword searches.
you need to pick out about 10 items from different areas of interest and then go do some keyword research and try to find out which product/item gets the most searches per month.
Cut your list in half from your keyword search and Take data and try to find the one that has an exact .com domain available.

Along with looking for products that will be released in a few months, you can research trends and other reports. Best Sellers are often already well-covered so the competition could be fierce.

You could also test various niches by creating pages, or groups of pages, on Hub Pages and Squidoo. If you do well on these for a certain niche, then build a site or blog around that niche. Point your related Hub Pages and Squidoo lenses to your new site for a good backlink too.

Amazon's best sellers are a good place to start. Write reviews on products you enjoy, and you will come across as more knowledgeable rather than spammy.
